I love the Emsworth-Basingstoke Relay. It’s 70 km of all the terrain Hampshire can throw at you, right from the coast to within half-a-lunchtime-jog of the Sony office. It’s fab.
Result: 7th team / 20
Date: Saturday 19 May 2012
Format: 70km cross-country running relay in teams of 4-6

Sorry, no time for a report that would do the whole day justice, but here’s my quick update…
We survived the mud (and worse…) on Saturday. I was pleased because I ran all my legs faster than either of the previous two years, and did an additional one on top (and without having recce’d it!) because we were only a team of 4. We finished 7th/20, the highest ever result for Sony as far as I know.
Thanks to everyone who sponsored us, we’ve raised well over £1000 for Alzheimer’s Society. Sony will match most of our sponsorship so that doubles your donations and the charity should get over £2500 all told, a great result.
Team Bravia (Gareth S-B, Jon Powell, Chris Clifton and Duncan McGregor) take home the prize for fastest corporate team (by virtue of being the fastest team of the only company to field any, again).
We’ll be back again next year!
