River Conditions

Status

Thank you so much to everyone who has already sponsored me in aid of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation. I’m very disappointed to say that the river conditions mean we’re unlikely to be able to go ahead tomorrow. If so, we’ll try again for Sunday, but if things haven’t improved, the challenge will be postponed until next month.

Basingstoke parkrun # 234

The last couple of weeks have been about preparing for next year. I need to write up my awesome bike fit session at Athlete Service in Henley last week, but I’ve also been working out with Nic how to split my winter training time. One thing we agreed was that I should try to keep a race distance run in my weekly programme. Having come across parkrun for the first time earlier this year, and been along to watch Em run it, it looks like it would definitely fit the bill on winter Saturdays. So, this morning, off I went.

Result: 19:12 (11th/244 overall)

Bike fit

Status

With the season drawing to a close, I’ve been thinking about what I need to do to go faster next year – hard graft on the turbo, basically! But… after quite a bit of research on the whole “bike fit” thing, getting some recommendations and talking to the guys at Athlete Service, I’ve booked a bike fit with them for 1 November. I’m hoping to get some advice on aero bars and other kit too. I’ll report back after!
